Tamarack Flooring Natural Grade
Tamarack (Eastern Larch) is a very dense wood that grows throughout North America. It is found in nutrient poor bogs and other wet poorly drained sites. Tamarack wood is light brown in color with a pleasing variegated pattern from brown to green, resulting from the contrast in color between the early sapwood and prominent late wood.
Tamarack is the hardest of the softwoods and makes a durable and impressive looking floor. With its wild variations of color and its unique grain, it has become a perfect flooring product to use in log homes and cabins. It has also become very popular in new home construction as the building trend has gone back to that old country style with wide plank flooring and traditional décor.
